Now that February is over, and spring is approaching, it’s about time to switch your closet from blacks, burgundies, and olives, to pinks, blues, and khakis.

Club Monaco's Spring Display

Spring is all about changing your mood from gloomy and sad to happy and colourful! Don’t you want to know what colours and clothing are trending for this season? Well, I’m going to tell you what are some ‘must haves’

for this year spring, what colours are trending, and show you what I found on my spring clothing adventure at Sherway Gardens.

You didn’t think the cold shoulder was going anywhere, did you?

I found this shoulder cutout dress in the shop DYNAMITE

One-shoulder shirts and dresses are really trending this season, and also anything that shows a little shoulder is what’s “hip” right now. I have yet to walk into a clothing shop this season, and not find something that hangs off the shoulder or just shows a little shoulder. Either way, shoulders are out! Even showing off one shoulder through smartly placed cutouts is a top trend for the season. Single shoulder cutouts look something like #2 on this fashion blog: http://www.blog.jdinstitute.com/top-trends-spring-2017-new-york-fashion-week/

While walking around Sherway Gardens I found a cute grey dress, and the sleeves had cutouts so I just had to try it on! Just remember, this spring is all about the shoulder. So if it isn’t off the shoulder, it isn’t right!

Remember when you couldn’t scroll down your Instagram without seeing someone trying to sell you a waist trainer? Well, it looks like they have turned this body shaping fitness accessory into a stylish ‘must have’ for this spring. These waist-clinchers are very similar to a corset, and a belt as you can see in #6 on this fashion blog: http://www.blog.jdinstitute.com/top-trends-spring-2017-new-york-fashion-week/. Hence, why people are calling them a “corset belt”. Surprisingly all the shops that I visited did not have any of these “corset belts”, but maybe I just didn’t go into the right shop.

This season is also all about stripes! From vibrant stripes, to seaside stripes, to banker stripes. Although you always see stripes on the runway in fashion shows, it’s been quite a while since they were this bright and bold! These seaside stripes are inspired from objects like lounge chairs, and umbrellas. Really setting the trend for the sunny seasons. On the other hand, banker stripes are

inspired by wall street, but tweaked to work for a “downtown fashion” look. I found tons of stripped clothing in all the shops I went to, but the banker stripes really stood out to me.

Last but not least, SPRING COLOURS!

These cute spring coloured shoes were in ALDO

Blues, yellows, floral and khaki’s are all colours trending this season, but this spring it’s all about shades of PINK! The shades Pink Yarrow along with Pale Dogwood came out on top to be included in the Pantone’s list of the spring/ summer 2017 colour trends. https://www.pantone.com/fashion-color-report-spring-2017.

This display was outside of the shop DYNAMITE

Personally, I prefer the Pale Dogwood shade of pink, and that is the colour that I saw in every single shop that I entered in the mall. If you want to be trending this season, then i suggest that you add some shades of pink to your closet! Especially Pale Dogwood.

I found this Pale Dogwood skirt in H&M

I hope that this blog is of help to you when you're shopping for what to wear this spring. Make sure to watch my video on my Youtube Channel; where i put together a spring outfit using one Pale Dogwood i bought, and the rest from items already in my closet.
